Hi All,

Whats the difference between Ferrite bead and Common Mode Choke. Where excatly we will use the Ferrite bead and the Common mode Choke.
Ferrite bead is used to Supress the High Freq noise in form of heat. as the Freq increases the Ferrite bead acts as high resistance and the noise is emitted in the form of heat right. Please let me know if i am wrong.

We use electrolytic Capacitors(100uF to 1000uF range) of larger values are used to filter the High freq noise right where excatly we will use the Ferrite bead and the Electrolytic Caps in the deisgn.

Thanks

hi as said ferrite beat is used in the suppression of high frequency noise
but considering the common mode choke it used for the tfiltering of the differential noise of the lines
similarly for the suppression of the common mode noise we use the differetial chokes.
there is one good article in the coilcraft website as to how to calculte the differential chokes and common mode chokes and what are its applications

thanks
som
