Detect and Convert 110vac\220vac to 220vac

Hi all,

Our system have designed to work at 220vac.
However, our clients may use the 110vac network or the 220vac network so we want to add a generic conversion module.

The conversion will performed with a transformer that can convert 110vac\220vac to 220vac (depends on the pins).
My concept is to use a detector (which detects the 110vac, or 220vac connection) and short it to the appropiate pins of the transformer.

The problem is that I don't know how to detect that a 110vac supply?

one method is convert your ac to dc using rectifier and use voltage divider circuit to convert 230/110 dc to low voltage (2 to 5v) and read by a micro controller or you can use some comparator circuit for find the voltage
