Helloo firends,,,, I have to design a servo for a load of 3K.W please suggest me the rating of Variac and kindly tell me how to calcultae the rating of variac according to load ..i want to keep the size of variac as small as possible..pleasee advice mee....

Do you want to stabilize your mains at a power level of 3 Kw? The standard system with a motor powered Variac, is that the Variac handle the error power. So if your voltage is +- 10% the power will be +- 20%, so you need a Variac to handle 3 kW X .2 = 600 W, or 2.5 A at 230 V.
Did I guess right ?
