Design of transformer based on primary inductance and turns ratio

Hi,

I am trying to do a flyback converter using linear technology's LT3573:

Following their design example/steps, the turns ratio and primary inductance are calculated first:

Is it ok to go about designing a transformer in this way? And how do I begin to do so?

CHoose from the recommended transformers until you get good results then consider transformer design as a cost reduction if you have enough volume.
