Dear Friends,

My question may see basic but ignore the level but choose to answer.

In order to design rectangular or circular shaped printed or microstrip antennas we have empirical formulae, using which we can design an antenna for a specific frequency and desired substrate.

If I wish to design a arbitrary shaped antenna, say for eg. a star shaped antenna what is the logic to design one for a given frequency.

Please comment.
