[PIC] debuging and simulation

Hi, i didnt know how to search about this. i hope it is not asked before.

1 - i have a circuit with microcontoller.
is it possible to see changing of variables in mplab ide when i turn potantiometer?
in other word, can mplab ide read changing of variables from microcontoller? Thanks

2- Which program would u suggest , to make circuit simulation which has microcontroller in it? thank you.

2) For simulation
you can use proteus-isis (isis for schematic, isis is half part of the proteus program)
there are so many pics in the isis,
you can load your hex or cof file
(which mplab produced) to the pic in the isis schematic,
when you loaded cof file you can run the code
step by step and visualize all the registers and pins,
also you can added so many peripherals,
you can added leds, 7 segs, lcds, other chips,
ports like virtual uart and virtual usb
and communicate with your pc as if
your circuit in the isis connected to the com or usb port of the pc.

brunofunchas, do i need any special device or kable for JTAG, or ICD 3 have jtag inside?
would u suggest me any tutorial about it, (with Mplab IDE).

Sorry, but ICD3 does not supports jtag.

I do not know your application, but if it is simple, go for ISIS that is a great tool to debug.
