Datasheet for TM162AD - 2 x 16 LCD display

Hello there,

Please could anyone help me with the datasheet for a TM162AD LCD. I seem unable to get any on the internet. The nearest match I get is the TM162GBCWU6.

Are they the same? Or is there a difference.

most text lcds use the same controller HD44780 and same 14-pin interface. you should be able to use this lcd according to any industry standard display..

seems to be a Tianma TM162ADA6, but without backlight (coded in the last 'A').

These LCDs have two pin arrangements generally, the single line 14-pin and 2 line 14 pin. Some also have 16 pins in which case the pin 15 and 16 are for back-light. Apart from these differences, I have never needed a datasheet. The are all plug-in replacements of each other
