What are the multiplexing bits in pic 18f4550? How do we know which channel is on

at a time for a given set of inputs?

What is in figure that i have uploaded?

1.What is 0.22K 100 MKT ? Is it a resistor?

2.What is the value of violet capacitor ?

Please elaborate as soon as possible.

Hi,

The two parts you show are capacictors, the orange one is 0.22uf Polyester type, the violet one is an Electrolytic capactitor, which must be fitted with is + and - terminals the correct way round, from what I can see in the picture is looks like is value is 10uf at 50v dc.
The colours of the capacitors are meaningless.

As for the multiplexing bits and which channel you are on, well you are talking about the software control part of the project, you have not give any details of the actual project so cannot really answer you question in detail.

In general terms the pic will be reading data from a port one bit at a time, then moving on to the next bit, so it starts with bit 0 then moves on to bit 1 etc.
The results are then converted and then transmitted out, this data will by some means, usually the pc program, be matched up to show which input channel it relates to.
