Current Amplification help

Hi EDA people ,
I am Manoj here.
I get a +5v signal from my DAQ kit which has 50mA . Now the task is to activate/deactivate a coil i need 150 mA for it .
so can u give me any suggestions to amplify the current .

I have tried using BC547 transitor .
connected 1K resistor to the Base
connected the ground to Emitter
Connected the coil to the collector end. but it not functioning properly.
Can some one help me in this case???:sad:
 

you have to connect the other end of the coil to +ve
bc 547 is for upto 100 ma only

Thanks for your reply sir wat do u mean by the other side . ? sorry sir i dod not get yuo.

The end of L1 should be connected to +ve not Gnd
