Correct connection of BJTs in counter

The BJTs are wrong or NPN types must be connected in this counter instead.
Can you let me know of what to do? replace with NPNs? or how to connect the PNPs?

The schematic and transistors are correct except the 'C' and 'E' letters are crossed over. The symbol is correct, the lettering is wrong.

I had similar confusion over PNP connections as I tried to obey the Forrest Mims schematic.

The pins 1, 2, 15 each go low, one at a time. It's suitable to drive a P device. Your schematic puts the load in the emitter leg according to the icon of the PNP. Therefore Brian's post #2 is correct.
