[SOLVED] constant current circuit (4A) with unstable Load

This will draw 0 mA until you switch the load on.
I would use 3 identical circuits in parallel each feeding 1.066 Ohm with a fixed 0.75 Ohm power resistor.
or preferably 4 same ccts x 1A each with 1.250 Ohm power resistors.. Use TO-3 regulators if the pulses is repeated often otherwise TO220.

Regulation will be the same as the accuracy of the resistor. The internal reference voltage is very tight 1.25V. Heatsink all 3 terminal regulators and will draw 0 current unless load is connected. Total Cost $10 depending on source.

no PCB needed... use 0.1uF on input if long lines.. response time < 1mS.
