Is it possible to be able to connect the outputs of one microcontroller to the inputs of another without using complex (for me) serial interfaces? I can understand the need of such interfaces with high speeds, but is it alright to connect straight through with speeds of at most a bit a second or something really slow like that?
Hi,
Assuming all your controllers are on the same PCB, parallel transfer of data between them is the quite commonly done. In such cases you may not need any clock synchronisation in many applications. You can use port bits for handshaking between micros to send/receive data.
