Communication Protocol for a Network of Power Converters

Hello All,

I want to know if there are some communication standards in place to form a network of power converters. Lets say I want to connect an "n" number of dc-dc converters, inverters , batteries etc. wherein each of them need to share some basic information (not high bandwidth control info). Do we have some standards in place to accomplish this? I was considering CAN as an option for physical layer but couldn't find any application layer defined specifically for communication between power converters.

Am I missing something ?

Thanks!
