Code Optimisation as well as execution time Optimisation

Hi friends,
I have a basic doubts in embedded programming.

1. Will structure implementation rather than using individual data type implementation results in code optimisation and accessing results in execution time optimisation?

2. Programming in C++ or C of Java differs in terms of code optimisation or execution optimisation?

Then how can i do optimisation?
