This CNC milling machine is one of very useful tools in an electronic workshop. What more, it can be made at home.

Most of components can be performed on another milling machine. Of course, there are some elements that have to be made to order in professional firms. They are: plywood, linear bearings, trapezoidal screws, bronze nuts and supported shafts. You will also need polyethylene, PVC, dibond.

Parameters:
  • working area: 38x30x7cm (its size mainly depends on the base of the device and of course it can be bigger)
  • theoretical resolution is 0,005mm (using half-steps)
  • opportunity to eliminate looses of each axis by using double trapezoidal nuts and resistive bearings in bearings blocks
  • processing opportunities – wood, plastic, plexiglass and even soft metals such as aluminum and copper can be cut using this milling machine.

The solution of using the base in shape of an open box has advantages and disadvantages. The advantages are the rigidity and cleanliness, because the box can contain pieces of cut materials. The disadvantages are: noise created by the resonance box and the size of processed material which can not be greater than the box itself.

And the effect of above milling:
