Circuit Design Requested

Hi all, I've been trying to design a circuit that adds a disired voltage to an input voltage

ie. a signal voltage of 0-5VoltsDC is input and then the output is the input +n Volts upto 5Volts, with "n" being variable.

I had an idea of using transistors to amplify the input but this seems too easy to be true and I really dont have the gear to experiment and I'm not too knowledgable with digital electronics.

I'd really appreciate some ideas.

Just use an Opamp Summer.

Google Opamp Summer and you´ll get a circuit with the equation.

You can use LM317 to accomplish this task.
