Hi all, I've been trying to design a circuit that adds a disired voltage to an input voltage

ie. a signal voltage of 0-5VoltsDC is input and then the output is the input +n Volts upto 5Volts, with "n" being variable.

I had an idea of using transistors to amplify the input but this seems too easy to be true and I really dont have the gear to experiment and I'm not too knowledgable with digital electronics.

I'd really appreciate some ideas.

Cheers

Adam

You can use LM317 to accomplish this task.

hey cheers peoples,

Thats so simple I didnt even know an opamp could be used as an averager or summer, THANKS AGAIN! :)

You could refer to "Microelectronics", 2nd Ed., Jacob Millman, p447

There will have more details.

Hope it can help you...
