I would like to know how to connect an mp3 player to a cassette car stereo through an aux jack.
Basically how to wire the aux jack to a ford car cassette stereo.

Thanks

There is no aux jack on the stereo.
I would like to know how to install one.

In which case the easiest way is to buy one of those small FM transmitters designed for the job. You plug it in the MP3 player headphones socket & pick it up on the car radio.

Thanks for the information.
I would like to know if it would be possible to wire an aux jack to where the cassette player head is connected on the PCB circuit board pads and connect a toggle switch to the cassette player to turn on the aux jack?

Thanks

You can buy dummy cassettes with a cable to do the job.

The problem with trying to wire in to the unit is you need to find a place in the circuit where the signal levels and equalization are correct. The cassette head is not that place. The signal levels are too small. Unless you have a circuit diagram it will be tricky to work out where to cut it in. With an oscilloscope you could trace the audio signal levels and find a suitable place.

A stereo that has mp3 aux input installed ( built in ).
How is this connected?
Wired from the aux input to a pre amp then to the circuit board at the 1st amp stage?
What does the cassette stereo head wire connect to, a pre amp?

Thanks

An AUX input will connect quite late into the amplification stages because the signal level is quite high. The cassette head signal is quite low so has more amplification.

I have connected an mp3 aux input to a 8 track head wiring circuit pads and used a toggle switch to power on/off the 8 track player.
Works as planned but I am getting some feedback/noise which I can hear when the mp3 player is turned down.
