hello,

I'm working on a project using AT89S52, I'm confused on what capacitor will be used that are connected on each end of 11.0592mhz crystal.. So, may I ask anyone here on what particular capacitor value using AT89S52 with 11.0592 mhz crystal. Thank you!!

Hi,

You can try the startup capacitor values: 33 PF or 22 PF

Hai...

C1, C2 = 30 pF ± 10 pF for Crystals
= 40 pF ± 10 pF for Ceramic Resonators

Refer your datasheet. They give the typical values to construct the circuit

All the best

Thanks

usually I use 33pF, best way is read the datasheet and the capasitor depends on your crystal..

many thnx for your replies.. what particulat datashet? datasheet of the microcontroller? or the crystal oscillator?

Hai.... the microcontroller's datasheet will give u all such details. U may also get these datails in crystal datasheet also.

All the best.

Thanks

The microcontroller datasheet only provides the typical range of capacitor values.

The specification of crystals vary and for a more accurate recommendation of capacitor values the crystal datasheet should be consulted, if available.

As an example the following is an excerpt from the CTS ATS/ATS-SM Series Crystal Datasheet for the 11.0592 frequency devices:

thanx to all.. this is another issue about the circuit ive seen on internet, the ckt has a resistor of 330h, what does it mean? 330x100? or 330ohm alone?

Can you post the schematic? Without examining the schematic, it would be difficult to say with certainty.

The Omega symbol (Ω) is sometimes improperly translated when fonts are changed.
