Can you run an extension cable through a 12v DC converter from a 28v power supply

hello,

Could anyone help me, i'm curious, could you run an extension cable through a 12v DC innverter (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ring-Automotive-RINV300-Single-Socket-Powersource/dp/B000TLSLQ0) from a 28v power supply (4x Veh batteries setup series/parallel) without damaging the inverter. I'm not sure whether the inverter just takes what volts it needs (restricting to 12v) and outputs the as if being given 12v source of power?

If unable to do that, would it be possible to buy a extension cable which can connect upto 2 binding posts to allow connectivity of Lighting and laptop power?

you must not connect a 12V inverter to a 24V battery, you will blow its fuse and if it did work for a few seconds it would produce twice the mains voltage that would burn out your PC and lights.
The best you can do is to split the batteries into pairs and feed each pair (12V) into the inverter one pair at a time, but you must try and use them equally so when they are reconnected to the 24V charger both of the batteries are discharged equally, else if one is "flat" and the other is fully charged, the charger will tend to overcharge the all ready charged battery.
