Can you plug 240 volts into portable generator?

I need to replace standby generator. Can I wire my double pole switch that has key household circuits somehow into a 8 KW portable generator? You all are welcome with your suggestions.
 

if your house hold load is below 8kw then you can directly conect the generator. but remeber that mains from electricty board should be disconected
