Can anyone show me in figure how will be the setup and hold time be for both.
I want to know how will it be considered from risiging edge or so...

Re: Setup & Holdtime

setup & hold toimes are different for FF and latch.

they depends on cell structure, i feel.

Re: Setup & Holdtime

Haiii,

I think SETUP and HOLD time are of same meaning for FF & Latch in the sense of their requirements, only thing that differs is the EDGE or LEVEL for sampling or latching.

But the values of SETUP and HOLD time for FF and Latch in a particular technology may differ.

Please correct if am wrong.

Re: Setup & Holdtime

Hi no_mad,

Thanks for the figures.

But from the figure i see is, for flipflop setup and hold time comes into play at the rising edge of the clock, and for latch it seems that before the clock goes to low(ie., before holding the data) setup time is coming into play,That means latch is holding the data whenver the clocl is low.

Is it right??
