i wanna model a coax transimission line using the cell of tline in analogLib,
then how can i set the delay time? what does normalized length and propagation
velocity normalize mean? and resistance loss? conductance loss? must i set the value
of physical length?
Man a transmission line is typically characterized by it delay. This can be any minor value. The normalized length is the most important parameter as everything is defined by the length of the media, as per (beta* length) where beta = (2*pi)/lambda where lambda is the wavelengh of the transmission. The characteristic impedance is set by sq.root(L/C) when there is no lossy components like R and G. Hence, if it is a lossless medium then R and G components are zero. The propagation velocity is f*lambda, where f is the frequency of propagation.
I suppose that these are correct and it helps you.
hi Vamsi Mocherla,
thanks a lot ,
then in beta*length, what does this length refers to? physical length or normalized length? and how can i set the value of normalized length? normalize to what?
and lambda refers to wave length, then can u explain to me what is wave length?
and i can set r=0 and g=0 since it is a lossless one.
