Cadence IC 5.0.33 on Slackware 10.2

Hi I'm trying to run IC 5.0.33 on Slackware and whenever I run the command cdsdoc (or click on the documentation from the help menu) it fails telling me that java could not be loaded:

/soft/cadence/tools/jre/bin/java

because it could load the shared library:

libpthread.so.0

has anyone got this problem? I can run slackware 10.0 fine, but that uses java 1.4.3 while slackware 10.2 uses 10.5.0... (and cadence includes it's own binaries anyway)
