Cadence DC operating points

Howdy !!

I have a basic question regarding Cadence DC operating points. Whenever we print the DC operating points using DC sweep, we get values like Vds, Vgs, Vdsat and so on. We get these values for the operating point. My doubt is how Cadence sets DC operating point by itself. Shouldn't it be left to the designer to set a DC operating point?

Yes - of course, the DC operating point is set by YOU. You are choosing all the values the DC sources which are used by the program to calculate the operating point.
This operating point is independent on the sucseeding DC analysis (or ac analysis), which varies one of the DC sources (or any other parameter determining the DC current distribution).
