I am new to this forum, I have gone trough all ur messages, I want to know is h-tech picc is free or not. if there is any free version c complier for pic either from hitech or any other, pls guide me.

hi-tech isn't free.you can download demos from https://www.htsoft.com/downloads/demos.php

or you can try MPLAB student edition, it's free.

No! C18 is for PI18 family only.

I know I've wasted your time with my questions, but please be patient.

I could write small programs in (Basic, C, C++ & Assembly) but I want to know what programmer should I use with each compiler and PIC Families.

I'll upload here the schematics of all programmers I have and please tell which one I can use with all PIC families or most of them.

Also, which one could I use with PIC C lite and mikrobasic v1.16

The first two programmers are only for 16F84. Next two - I haven't tryed them. I've always used a Propic2 programmer (hardware) with a ICProg (software). There were no problems with them at all.
Finally there is no matter what programmer you're using with your compiler.
