I have designed the boost converter and simulated using multisim. In real-time, boost converter not boosting the voltage instead the voltage was decreasing.
Input voltage from solar panel (50W) Vmp=17.6, Imp=2.86.
Required output voltage =24V, L(Toroidal)=375µH, C=470µF, Load=22Ω,50W.
switching frequency=5kHz.
Input voltage is equal to output voltage at duty cycle 0. When duty cycle increased the output voltage was decreasing but no drop in input voltage.
Without load boost converter boost the voltage gradually.

* At 0% duty cycle there will be at least the voltage drop of the diode.
* with duty cycle... at which device (only L or D possible) should be the voltage drop?
* without load the voltage may increase relatively fast without dedicated limit. Could be dangerous..at least for the transistor.
Do you have a scope?
Post a foto of your circuit.
Btw: with 50% duty cycle = 100us,
375uH and 24V you may expect a current rise in the L of 6.4A
