can anyone suggest a good book on analog cicruit design? (not at the chip level but systems level)

Analog is big domain ! wt do u want specficly ?

i want something which stresses on voltage regulators and voltage-current sources-predominantly dealing with dc stuff

Try Agilent's DC Power Supply Handbook.
It's somewhere on their site.

EDIT: Application note 90B
