bi colour LED failures

Dear All,

I am using bi colour LED in my circuit. I am having more number of failures in the LED with the common failure mode.

The failure mode is green colour led is not working.

I have attached the circuit in this mail, please make a note of it and kindly give me your suggestions which will be very useful for me .

When one LED is on the other is reverse biassed by 1/2 X Vcc, this is what is seeing off the green LED. Put a conventional diode in series with each LED to hold off the reverse voltage.

If the circuit is built as shown, the red LED is either off or reverse biased - it could never be on.
