XC Compilers are available from this page in downloads tab. You also need MPLAB X IDE. XC Compilers doesn't work with old MPLAB 8.xx IDE.

XC Compilers doesn't work with old MPLAB 8.xx IDE.

XC16 works well with MPLAB 8, at least up to V1.25, and I guess, XC8 does too.

My MPLAB last version doesn't even show the XC COmpilers in its toolsuite.
