i am using lm3914 to make a battery level indicator , as the given in datasheet that we should not use current more that 1 amp. but i need to make a battery level indicator for 12v, 7.3 A battery any solutions to reduce current to 1 amp or any other solutions
Assuming that 'level ' indicator is 'voltage' indicator
te question about the 12v , 7,3A spec of the battery exceeding the lm3914 specification is not correct.
3914 is a voltage sensor.
load courrent of battery will not pass thro it.
I built several led bargraph voltmeters around the 3914. None draws more than 50 or 100 mA.
A few resistors are needed, including one that limits current through the led's. You must select a sufficiently high ohm value. An led should not be asked to carry more than 20 mA.
