I want to know the basics on how to bias an IGBT??How do i calculate the drain resistance .source resistance and other values for a particular IGBT?I have surfed quite a lot.Could not find appropriate and sufficient information.

IGBT is a Fet input BJT output so, Rce is controlled by Vge in data sheets found here. it also uses interactive menu to select items or range ctrl+ click or shift+ click.

They are commonly used as switches , not linear gain.

https://www.digikey.com/product-sea...onductor-products/igbts-single/1376382?k=Igbt

e.g. https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/IXGX400N30A3/IXGX400N30A3-ND/1652310

has Vce(on)=1.15V @15Vg, 100A
so Rce~11.5 milliohm but there is a thermal temperature coefficient as well for Vce
