I was trying to burn microcontroller through parallel port (db25). All my connections were correct. There is no problem with db25 as it worked in my friend's computer.
I have only one doubt. I would like to know if my computer detected the port or not ( I mean if the port lpt1 is working or not). How should I find that?

I am getting the same error

Avr not responding
Please check the connections and ... so on

Thanks in advance.

What software are you using, is the port and programmer type set correctly?
What kind of prallel do you have, there are the ones on the MB or PCI/PCIex LPT card or even some usb to LPT.
What programmer circuit are you using (DIY, bought)?
Are you sure about the AVR clock source, have you changed the fuses of is it still using the internal RC.
