Hello,
Conditional SER in AWGN for several Gray bit-mapped constellations in practical systems is given by \[Q \left[ \sqrt{\beta \gamma}\right]\], where \[\gamma\] is the SNR. Then, the ASER \[P_S(e) = E_{\gamma}\left[Q\left(\sqrt{\beta \gamma}\right)\right]\]. But I read in a paper that the ASER can be written as \[P_S(e) = Pr[X > \sqrt{\beta \gamma}]\] where X is a standard Normal distributed RV. Can anyone explain to me how is that?
