Automotive load dump protection units

Hello,
In cars with LED lights, why do they have automotive load dump protection in every lamp?...why don't they just have one automotive load dump protection unit for the lighting, and feed all the lights from this unit? Then don't need the protection in every lamp.

The garage "quick start" charger are capable of 25V at 200 A or more. The battery would reduce the overvoltage, but in general you would need a "Zener" diode able to conduct more then 200A at 15V. This would be expensive so they distribute the "zener" around the car, this also means that the wiring and the resistance of the cars internal fuses reduces the clamping current.
