I am using this Ethernet PHY IC.

For routing flexbility, I have the below 2 questions:

1. Can I connect TXP/N of the PHY pins to the RXP/N pins of the RJ-45 connector? - Because I have Auto MDIX features, I think we can do this. Anything should I take care in hardware or firmware (register settings) while I do this?

2. Also, this PHY mentions that it supports Auto-polarity correction. Hence, Can I connect TXP of the PHY to RXN of the connector and RXP of the PHY to TXN of connector?

Can someone clarify on what connections are possible and what is not? Just really confused on this.
