ATSAM3S - ADC Question

AT91SAM3S - ADC Question - Cant Achieve highest sampling rate

I am using AT91SAM microcontroller and data sheet claims that ADC is capable to deliver data at the rate of 1Msps. Page 1092 also says that ADC takes 20000 nano seconds to finish one conversion (If we use the maximum ADC clock period of 1000 nano seconds). So, 1/20000 is like 50K samples / second. So, how can we get 1Msps in this ADC?
