Hi,

I want to interface SPI eeprom 25q32 with ATMEGA32.
In my design SPI eeprom will is operated with 3.3V and AVR operate with 5v, my question is do i required level convertor b/w them. One of my friend told me that you can directly connect SPI eeprom with AVR. I required everyone expert opinion.

Thx And Regards.

I don't know if a direct connection will work but try to place a diode or two diodes in series this will drop the voltage for about 0.6 ~ 0.7v per diode. 5v-1.3v = 3.7v with two diodes

Now you can can test if ATmega can take 3.3v signal directly.

A voltage divider will do the job. Or you can you level convert chip..

Directly connecting AVR to eeprom will damage the eeprom
