[ASK] ATMega8535 and W3100 chip

I'm new to microcontroller and now I am using ATMega8535 and W3100 TCP/IP chip to create an application using C.

I'm confuse where to start.
Can anybody help me please.

Maybe for example the source code how to set the IP Address using this kind of uC.

first of all, take a look at datasheet of W3100 :

it contains all you need to know about the chip.
Plus, I don't think the ATMega8535 will be able to handle this chip as it has only 8kb flash, 512B RAM and run upto only 16MHz...

Thank you for your advice.

But this uC can handle w3100 chip, because I've already tried it in BASIC language, and now I want to program it with C.

I'm using I2C interface between the uC and the chip.
Can anybody help me how to set the pin configuration??
