purchased a perpetual license for ansys for mechanical and thermal analysis several years back, but now the software says license expired! Tech support cost like 20k/yr so no help from ansys unless I pay this. Any suggestions?

Questions:

* Did they publish an upgraded version of Ansys?
Does your perpetual license include free upgrades, or does the User Agreement state you agree to pay a 'modest fee' for upgrades?

* Did you upgrade your OS? Say, from Win7 to Win10? Or even Win11? There might be a Compatibility Checker utility to tell you whether your installed Ansys package runs okay in the new environment. (In addition there's a compatibility checker which examines whether your computer can run the new OS.)

* Tech support might simply suggest that you uninstall the package, then do a clean install.
Maybe restart your computer before installing.
Maybe disconnect from a network before installing.

* Does Ansys have a website? Does it offer to tell you what is the status of your license key?
Does it have a FAQ page covering the question 'Your software does not accept my license key'?
