7404 hex inverter data sheet

how do you calculate VIL, VIH, VOL, VOH if you know the IIL, IIH,IOH and IOL?

IIL is the input current when the input is low. IIH is input current when input is high.

VIL is voltage input low and VOH is voltage output when high.

Also can somebody help me find the datasheet for NTE7404?? I can't find it on the web.

You can't calculate the voltage specs from the current specs. They are independent values. You must read the data sheet.

Do you really want an NTE data sheet? It's probably skimpy. Here's the TI data sheet:

what is icch and iccl? is that the current draw of the chip?

Yes. When the output is high and low, respectively.

Here is a helpful application note:

Another handy TI book, similar to the classic TTL Data Book:

inverter 7404

according to my lab, i have to determine
VTC, IIL, IIH, IOL, IOH, and PS.

Once that is known, i'm suppose to Determine VIL, VIH, VOL, VOH, and noise margin of the inverter.

I'm confuse about VIL, VIH, VOL, VOH and what they are representing. Is VIL the maximum input voltage that will cause Vo to stay high? What is VOL and VOH??

ttl data book pdf

The SZZA036.pdf application note defines those four terms:
VIH - page 31. VIL - page 32. VOH - page 43. VOL - page 43.
Do you need more clarification?
