in my as servo drive data sheet i found that the step and direction optocouplers can be drived using line driver ic am26ls31. my doubt is that the data sheet says that to connect am26ls31 out put directly to optocoupler inputs the manufacture has placed a fixed 220ohms resistor in series with the optocoupler, it is safe to drive the optocouplers with line driver using internal 220 ohms resistor alone. the operating voltage of am26ls31 is 5v .

Hi,

look into the AM26 datasheet "driver output" section

and into the optocoupler datasheed "LED" or "input" section.

If both meet within their specifications then it is OK.
