am transmitter circuit need help

hi
when i think start to design am transmitter circuit many question confuse me
according to theory to design low level transmitter we need amplifier ,oscillator and modulator circuit
but now i am confuse which modulator,oscillator and amplifier are use for low level transmitter
please someone tell me
