hello every body

can any one tell me when if automatic routing tools can do a "good pcb"

i want to know if professional engineer use automatic routing or manual routing,

and is it better to do routing manually

thanks

Generally Auto route is preferred only for non critical signals which does not have any constraints.

Some times if you have good real estate on the board and constraints are well defined then u can use for critical signals also..

Automatic routing tools have definitely improved, especially over the past few years, but as sivamani said, critical traces should almost always still be routed manually. It's usually best to manually route power lines and signals where crosstalk and timing are critical. Auto routers do some crazy things like unnecessary jogs and crazy amounts of vias that can cause problems for those types of signals.

Hope that helps!
