Aerofoil/Blade antenna vs Whip antenna

Take a look at antennas from one of the routers I've attached here. How does this aerofoil/blade shape affect directionality of antenna? I've tried looking up for explanation online, but couldn't find any literature on how the antenna's aerofoil design affects radiation pattern against the usual whip antenna for Wi-Fi spectrum (2.4/5 GHz). Thanks for reading.

Relating blade width to wave length clarifies that there's no relevant directional effect. I believe it's a marketing thing.

I found this image of a blade antenna (attached). The microstrip patch at the bottom somewhat made me wonder if it might not be completely omnidorectional.
