ADC7894 inputs...

Hi,
I have to use and 14 bit ADC with SPI.
I want to use AD7894-10 from analog device.

My input to ADC is in +/-10 V range but I did not understand where to connect inputs?
Is it ok when I connect to Vin and GND?
What happens when the Vin is -10V and the GND is +10V....

Can you please help me.....

Regards,
Max

Re: ADC7894 inputs...

Yes, just connect your input to Vin. And connect GND to your system ground. GND will always be 0V. I am assuming your input is single ended here.

If your input is differential, you can't use this part. The thing like Vin=+10V and GND=-10v should never happen.

Pin 2 is the input pin.

You also need to connect all the other pins!

Where are you referring your voltages to?? Ground is 0V.

Re: ADC7894 inputs...

My input is differential +/- 10V and I could not find a cost effecive ADC.

For this part I should find a true differential ADC

Hi maxidex,

how do you means differential:
as asymetrical(only 1 line, but range of +/_ voltages) or symetrical( two signal lines as + and - dedicated and dos have both a range 0 up to 10V?
K.
