hi there,

i would like know the difference between the ADC and S/H circuit? even though S/H is part of ADC, can we use S/H separately without ADC?
thank you

The S/H (Sample & Hold) is a separate function that is part of the inputs of many (but not all) ADCs. The S/H captures a short slice of the analog input signal and holds it as a DC level during the time it takes the AD to convert the analog sample to a digital word.

The S/H function certainly can be used independently of an ADC and there are specialized IC chips available for this, such as the LF398.
