abstract gSenerator extracting nets to full depth

Hi all,

Abstract generator by default extracts pins and corresponding nets which are only in top level. I could understand that it is enough for a abstract (LEF) view to have only top level info since it is going to be used for routing

Q1.Is there a way in abstract generator to generate nets to full depth till base layers without flattening the gds?

Q2.if not why is there a option in extract step of abstract generator called maximum depth?
