Dear all:
I want to use compact flash interface of PDA to design circuit.
For instance,I want to design a microprocessor(8051 or AVR or MSP)
I/O control circuit.
The circuit must has compact flash interface to connect to PDA,and
PDA can use uart method control the compact flash I/O.If you have
any relative data. Please help me.Thank you.
I think that compact flash can not connect serially using UART. As far as i am concerned the Multimedia Cards and not compact flash cards do have serial interface (SPI) which is not quite compatible with UART interface.
What DO you want to use: Compact flash or MMC?
If you wish to control a compact flash then you can use BASCOM AVR ver 1.11.7.4. It is a basic compiler for AVR that supports Compact flash. For example you can write or read data with a single command like "DriveWriteSector" or "DriveReadSector"
BUT if you wish to controll an MMC using SPI interface, i think that there is full documentation at sandisk's site: "Using the Multimedia Card is SPI mode with an 80c51 microcontroller" at
I can't find the audioplayback.pdf at Sandisk's site. I had downloaded but i should find it somewhere in my PC . If you do really want this file tell me. I will try more to find it and send it to you by email
