I just noticed that the AP89010 has a VOUT1 and VOUT2 that can be hooked directly to speakers.
Then why an amplifier is needed when the AP89010 can directly drive the speakers ?

It is simple to use the spec's on the datasheet to calculate that its maximum output power into an 8 ohm speaker is EXTREMELY LOW at only 0.08W. About as loud as headphones laying on a chair. If you hold it in your hand in a quiet room then you might be able to hear its Chinese accent like on the sample sounds on its webpage. At the higher bandwidths it sounds very good but its memory lasts only for a few seconds.
