cro probe

Hi...

Can you please explain the concept of Compensated Probes and why its used only for high frequencies....? Why not in Low frequencies..?

Thanks

cro filter probes

it is for the factor of impedance matching.... if the impedance doesn't match there would be reflection and the power received is also low.....

Hi

The concept is that the CRO probes used can act as transmission lines at very high frequencies. They will have quite an amount of capacitance and inductance which can cause loading at the CRO output and also impedance mismatching. FOr nullifying the effect, we use compensated probes. These isues wont come at low frequencies as the inductance/capacitance effect is negligible.

Hi Dear senthilnathan.rajesh!

You know, usually all the electric devices are modeled as a low pass filter and a resistor and a capacitor is considered to model it. So when you want to measure a "Unit Step" response of the device, the capacitance the prob would destroy the real response. In this cases the probe is designed so that the effect of the probe capacitance is neglected. These kinds of probes are called CRO probes.

Thanks!

Cro was an animated television series made by the Children's Television Workshop and Film Roman. It debuted on September 18, 1993 as part of the Saturday morning line-up for fall 1993 on ABC. Cro did not do well with the viewers. The show had an education theme in accordance with FCC-mandated E/I requirements. The show aired the last new episode on October 22, 1994. Cro used to rerun on Noggin before the channel's demographic got changed. This show had three video volumes: Have Mammoths, Will Travel, It's A Woolly, Woolly World, and Adventures in Woollyville.
